Comparison of soil physical properties and soil-vegetation indices to predict rice productivity in Malang Regency of East Java

Rice has become the leading food commodity in Indonesia, with total production reached +54.60 million tons 2019. However, tended to decrease by around 8% from 2018 2019, while rice consumption increased +1.53 tons. This study aims develop a estimation model using soil-vegetation index transformation (MSAVI and SAVI) soil physical properties, which advantage of being faster, cheaper, more accurate than conventional methods. The properties were taken based on mapping units analyzed parameters. results showed strong relationships between productivity - characteristics – MSAVI EVI r values 0.97, 0.83, 0.74, respectively. have better coefficient determination accuracy index. prediction is formulated inward γ = -8.96+0.01 (Top Soil Sand) + 0.01 Silt) 6.28 (Bulk Density) 14.07 (Penetration) 0.13 (Sub Permeability). There no difference value laboratory analysis result. These indicate that yield can be used for purposes.
